In the year 2002, The Horizon Real Estate Group was formed to provide customized real estate and real estate investment services for residential and commercial clients in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Horizon Real Estates' Commercial Division headed by Malik Ellis, a real estate attorney, has become very well respected and is one of the regions only minority owned real estate brokerages.
The Horizon Real Estate Group along with its sister company, Ellis Development Corporation, are active participants in the re-development boom currently taking place in the metropolitan area. Horizon Real Estate and Ellis Development are major partners in the re-development of the Shaw section of Northwest, Washington, D.C. This re-development includes serving as a joint developer of Broadcast Center One, which will be the new home of the Radio One and TV One Headquarters. The project will cost $110,000,000 and will feature 300,000 square feet of office, retail and residential space.
